My Pretty Zombie - Haul Post 2

Once I discovered Ojo de gato was back in stock I knew it was going to be mine. I wanted a sample of Mr. pickles and I made the move to get full sizes of a couple of the samples from last order. I also feel in love with a shade promoted by their model, biohazard beauty. Side note, she's so beautiful! I'm so glad I found her blog as the eye swatches are great for displaying the colour of the shadow but looking at them 100+ times to pick my shades I started to imagine it must have been a cow covered in make-up to get such large images. I can see her face now, it's so much less weird!

Arrived very well packaged.

A personalized thank you!

Which was really nice because I requested to change a shadow a few hours after the order. They were so great helping me change.

Three samples. Hopefully I don't fall in love and order full sizes again...

All items were carefully packaged. And yes.. a plastic finger.

I picked out 8 shades and took a risk on the full size Dr. Pickles green correcting powder. I just thought a baggie might be too ackward to really get to know if this product works for me. I believe it should dust in on before my foundation (if I'm doing that) to help minimize the red.
Isn't Dr. Pickles so cute!?

Bottoms of jars. Trepanation was the change that I needed to add.

More Dr. Pickles and the "must have" Ojos de Gato eyeshadow. It helps charity! Let's get those kitties back in good health!

Bottom of the two jars. Ingredients and eye/lip safe information include.d

I am so excited to play with these! Check them out at My Pretty Zombie. What shades do you love? Anyone want to see me swatch these pretties right away?

Innocent and Twisted Alchemy April subscription

Innocent and Twisted Alchemy has a subscription service! I've been watching this one for the past year when I made my first purchase of the Endless Rain collection. My favorite is 1000 Cherry Trees. At the time, the shades in the I & T sud didn't appeal to me as colours I would reach for or look good on me. However, I had some extra in my paypal account, and I saw a sneak peak (for the wrong month, oops!) and was able to snag a trial for April. There are two options - full size eyeshadows for $22/month or sample size for $16 (or $18?) per month. I picked the samples.

Such a cute bag!

Absolutely cute theme this month! I love it and I think these girls are so cute. It's all about wanting to be a magical girl. I get it. I was there. I used to read my brother's magma in high school I really wanted to be a large eyed goddess with always great hair.

Two eye shadows - Green grenade - a mid to dark green, leaning matte.
Berry Bomb - a lovely magenta shade with sparkles. I used this today, and the sparkles did alright through blending. I lost several, but the gold was still there.
A bonus item: Moonlight Stalker. This is a new angelic powder. I think it's like a highlight but could be used all over.

And samples. Two are beautiful exclusives! I wonder if the full-size sub received full sizes of these.... I would be worth. Samples from Baroque Cosmetics, Tilt shift, TenThreeLabs and Esoteric Aesthetic. I loved the last sample so much I went to order more, but accidentally got the wrong shop on Esty. :( I'll have to look again next pay day.

Here they are! Two sample eyes shadows in jars, a sample angelic powder, 3 sample eyeshadows and one sample blush.

All swatches are over bare skin, primer (stay, don't stray) and glitter adhesive (glitter fix).

Top to bottom:
Green Grenade, Berry Bomb, Moonlight Stalker (love tuxedo mask!)

Blurry for Berry Bomb.

And the samples!

Green Grenade, Berry Bomb, Moonlight Stalker, Majora, Tilt/Shift, TenThreeLabs and Baroque.

The two exclusive shades are lovely! I think I'll be looking to see if I can try the subscription again next month as I want to rein my budget in and start using all the products I hauled in February. I recommend the Innocent and Twisted Subscription, look for it on the 1st of the month.

Glamour Doll Eyes April OTM

Crazy cat lady starter kit 💕

Glamour Doll Eyes offers a highly competitive eye shadow of the month (OTM) for $15 shipping to Canada. The colours are always amazing, and I've never regretting purchasing. I mean, it's awful, don't try. Until I get one! ;)

This month had a uber cute box. I love the graphic artist Vee is or works with.

The front of the card. I've kept all of these. Indie love for Polish Addict. Use coupon promo code PANC15 to save 15% off.

The back of the card. Again, so cute.

The goodies inside. This month we got swedish fish. Even my husband equivalent got the joke.

Each month has a specially made sticker based on the theme. I like to stick these around the house.

The blush girl is so stinking cute! Love, love love.

A very cute kitten kisser from Notoriously Morbid. I love these.

I don't have time to swatch, but hopefully I can come back and add it. Bandit is shadow, and is matte brown with a green sheen. It looks amazeballs. The blush, Purr-Suasion looks like an amazing highlight that will give Day Job a run for it's money in my arsenal. I love Glamour Doll Eyes blushes, and as of the blush sale on storenvy today (using promo code blushin) I have completed the set as either samples, sample size jars or full size.

April is yet again another hit month. When it's time to swatch, I'll try to compare Bandit to Ticket to Ride as despite different bases they appear similar in the jars.

Upcoming : Corvus Cosmetics

A realitive new comer that I've heard high praise about is Corvus Cosmestics. I hesitated and was good about not ordering the last coupon code I heard about. But some of the shares haunted me and just before I decided to start my no buy (again) I picked up some samples to ponder until it's time to shop again.

I've been able to pull out the invoice ...

Ooo! Free sample!

I am looking forward to opening this package and swatching.

Dark Matter De-potting

I've tried some of Dark Matter's shadows, and picked up the second to newest release: The women of science! Dom has been releasing a set (what feels like) every month this year. I'm wanting to slow down and really start to play with her formulas.

I transferred my sample centrifuge tubes and my full tubes into jars I found on Etsy. Turns out I have a perfect number, 25. I honestly thought I only had 12 ... or so.. I guess I never counted the "...or so".

Here they are! All lined up in a row. Big ones, small ones.

I have a close up of how pretty they are as the filled. Let me know if I should post. I was too tired to remember tonight.

All my shades. Photo taken for my bad memory in case I go to order and I'm no where close to pick up the jar and read.

The ol' centrifuge tubes. I didn't actually mind using these. I think the jars will be easier. Mostly I transferred to get the nagging " you should be at work" "You use these every day at work" "work" "work" "work" monkey off my back and enjoy the last month or two of my Maternity leave. No work! Just pretty pigment play.

How do you use your Dark Matter shadows? Which are your favorites?

Brija Cosmetics - (most of the) Dexter Collection Swatches

Here are the last of the Brija Cosmestics Shades I have for a while. I did forget to add sample baggies of which I have "Kit" (very pretty). Another shade you might want to look up is "The Boy Who Lived". The Harry Potter collection has been getting lots of love, and I know I'm very tempted by the newly released Mean Girls blushes.

These are my mini and full jars from the Dexter collection based on the TV show based on the Novels by Jeff Lindsay.

(I'm so sorry, It won't stay rotated and without a mouse I only have so much determination).

Here's what we are going to see them over:
Bare skin
Brija's Adhesive Eye Wax
Benefit Stay, Don't Stray primer
Glamour Doll Eyes Glitter Fix

Ah-ha! Got it. And because I'm stubborn, I'm leaving both photos in :P

Left to right (and Top to Bottom below):
ITK (Ice Truck Killer)
Endure
Nothing Sexy
Ladies Man
Brave (from the power puff girl collection)
Just as Sane as I am (from Harry Potter, a lip colour)

The Dexter shades are more delicate that I imagined, but I am really liking Endure. I was very please with the depth of Brave (but I am very much in a green mode this year). These desperately need a sticky base. Both the wax and the glue seem to hold the colour fine. When I left them on my arm, the glitter fix did hold better but keep in mind I'm more experienced with the glue.

And cue the photos:

Mostly Matte. The gloss is buildable to a lovely lavender.

From Left to right:
Bare Skin
Adhesive Wax
Primer
Glitter Fix

And one last one completely on an odd angle for good luck,

From what I have seen, the formula is constantly improving. Brija offers beautiful feminine shades that are well suited to her loving personality (you can see it in her videos and interviews) and passion for pretty.

FOTD - Brija Cosmetics

I'm trying another look with the Brija Adhesive Eye Wax. I've read good things about it, and from my swatches, it does look like it works really well - almost as good as glitter glue but a bit less POW, in your face. I have been using the wax with the powder primer, but as I've been applying the powder with my finger, I thought I would try again using a brush.

Here's what I used today:
Eyes (all Brija Cosmetics unless stated otherwise) -
Powder Eyeshadow Primer
Adhesive Eye Wax
Apple Cider
Bachelor Watson
Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed
Cranberry Fizz
Mulled Wine
Dark Matter's Cassiopeia
Wide Eyed Waterline Liner

Face -
Perk Blush applied with Sedona Lace Powder Brush 850
Perk Gloss on Lips

One thing I've noticed about Brija Cosmetics are they are very feminine, and it almost seems impossible to over do them.

I started with the Powder Primer, and then I really tried to warm up the wax. I'm having difficulty getting it to stick to my eye lids and I'm not sure if that's because I'm up in the great white north or that my eyes have started to get all wrinkly. I think it's the first, and I might shelf this primer until the 5 warms days where eye sweat happens. By rubbing my finger several times, I was able to get the wax to melt enough I could get a thin layer.

I stated with Cranberry fizz as a inner eye highlight hoping to get the blue/pink sparkle. I worked towards the outer eyes patting then blending Apple Cider, Cassiopeia, Mulled Wine and Bright Eye and Bushy Tailed (BEBT). I blended the edges with Bachelor Watson, and used BEBT as a liner (which is it fabulous!). For under my eye I used Mulled Wine and a touch of BEBT. I finished with Wide Eye in the waterline, and I think this might be a favorite. I want to try setting this liner with powder to see if I can get flashes of bright colour to actually stay in my water line.
