FOTD Friday

Here's my FOTD! It's funny how I now think this is subtle, until I go out. ;)

Femme Fatale - enchant-mint (COTM), camp jelly jam and swamp lord (dq'd).
Hello Waffle - sweet tea blush as a crease colour.
Darling Girl - moonbeam, kiss n tell (lips), lumos pearls (cheeks), April Showers (dq'd?), setting powder.
Stilla pen liner, gel liner from Birchbox.
Purple Blush - something something.

I'm really digging the formula of the Kisu lips.

Femme Fatale Discontinued shades set 1

Femme Fatale is discontineing shades!!! AHHH!!!

Due to high oxide content, some shades will be change. I've got ye old facebook post around here some where.

These are the guys I have that have already been selected for the chopping block.

I have these over a glitter adhesive (Glamour Doll Eyes Glitter Fix), a primer (Urban Decay Primer Potion) and bare skin. Numbered as to the alphabetical list of shades to "stock up on".

Dreamstate, Faerie Fire, Grave Moss, Haunt, Impsy, Rampage, and Scream Song.

See? My notes on what I should get (if any, hello No Buy July, and perhaps Love my Stash, September). Page 2 lists the remaining four shades.

Look! The jars are in the blackground.

Haunt has an amazing shigt, but it's a pain to work with. Faerie Fire is stunning, but takes a lot to show up on my nearly transparent skin. Perhaps more contrast would let this shade shine.

Scream Song -

Rampage -

Impsy -

Haunt -

Grave Moss -

Faerie Fire -

Dreamstate -

And the video sparkle magic:

These are the shadows for set 2, forthcoming.

I'm missing 7 of the shades that are slotted to be discontinued. However, I'm not panicking - as they shades are going to return, and will likely be even better. I can't wait to see them.

Of these shades, a couple did not play nicely. However, Rampage is rose-gold love, Impsy sparkles like no one's business and grave moss (especially when paired with a rich dark green like the discontinued Swamp Lord) is totally my jam.

A tiny femme fatale order

I love Femme Fatale and I love Shiro. So I decided to make the teeniest order and grab Smelt of Elderberries when it hit it's last restock. This order took a really long time in transit - over six weeks! I suspect the mail personale are starting to book holidays and enjoy beer o'clock.
My gloss! And my Shiro limited edition Justin Timberlake shadow. When you rub it down, it becomes a nice pink. Yeah. I just talked about rubbing down J.T.

Here's a quick swatch. My first time applying this I didn't like it with my colouring - which surprised me. I usually like blue-toned pinks. But I have been enjoying it since. To the left are two Darling Girl eye shadow swatches. One GWP and a sample of Eclipse. Which I don't need in full/petit size*. *repeat daily until the spendsies go away.

My husband equivalent always asks me why my lipstick is all over my face... Do you have any ideas?

Five Favorite Collections

I've been pondering what collections would I suggest to someone wanted to expand to something new. These are some of my favorites.

1. Darling Girl Cosmetics: Who Ya Gonna Call?
I love the purples and I was surprised how much I loved the light shades and even the "out of my comfort norm" There is No Dana. It's a great mix of highlight, crease, lid, nuetral and bright. I bought the sample size and wish I would have opted for full. Worth the wait.

2. Glamour Doll Eyes: That's Awkward
Maybe it's because I still get to be a teenage watching the show, and I can pretend it's clever as it's written by and stares members of MENSA, but I love to get my Awkward on. Some of these are already on the best sellers list. My favorite is of course, New Girl with an honorable mention to Outie 5000.

3. Shiro Cosmetics: Seven Kingdoms
Again, fan girl may have bought the collection (the lid art is divine!) but the girl who wants to be good at makeup loves the colours. Mother of Dragons is an internet favorite, but I'm partial to Salt and Stone, No Men Like Me, Master of Whispers and Maiden Queen. It's a great collection of neutrals with just a touch of brights. This is a collection I would highly recommend even if you choose samples/minis and don't get the artwork.

4. Brija Cosmetics Glamour To Go. This is a super cute, easy to wear "welcome to make-up!" set. I would recommend this to someone who just wants to try wearing something new. The colours are simple, but classic.

5. Innocent and Twisted Endless Rain. This was the first set that I bought in completion so it hold a spot close to my heart. I love how light these shades are and how well they all fit together. My favorites are 1000 Cherry Trees, and Needs More Lace. The lid art on this set is also beautiful. I want to go back and try several of these again using some of the nicer sticky bases I have.

Honorary Mentions:

Honorable Mentions:

Femme Fatale Cosmetics Spell Weaver. My love for WoW goes to as much depth as these colours. I only have select shades from these (medal for self-control please :P). Any of the five World of Warcraft collections are welcomed gifts. *hint hint*

Hello Waffle Catssic Literature Collection. Just look at that lid art! I have a couple shades from this collection, and I giggle a tiny bit every time I use Call Me Ish-meow. Also check out the seductive Hisster Pryne.

TL;DR I like neutrals, purples, greens and sparkles. Add some cute artwork and you'll hear me squee! In all honestly, I think a great starting set includes a range of complemntary colours, something special and lots of love.

What are your favorite sets? Do you like to amass collections?

Mail day! Femme Fatale COTM May, 2015

Ooo, new business cards (to me, at least).

So many pretties!

Two samples (almost always become shades on my wistlist), and my goodies carefully wrapped.

The samples and the new business card.

The reason for the order: Limited edition Red Throne blush, May COTM Enchant-mint (although this seems suited more to March) and Ramage.

A little closer to show full size blush, full size eyeshadow and mini eyeshadow jar sizes.

Espionage Cosmetics - Comic Expo Nail Swatches

It's so sad when the nails have chipped and it's time to take them off 😢 I don't want mirror, mirror on the wall to go ... But glitter and glow in the dark makes it all better!

Shiro Cosmetics And Femme Fatale Haul

I absolutely adore the Shiro logo.

Come to me my pretties!

I am so in love with Femme Fatale. Silly no-buy is preventing me for spending all my retirement savings on all the thing. Looking pretty now is worth living in the park in the future, right?

Freebies! *Also know as stuff you will buy later.

I keep forgetting to buy Bog Body!

Femme Fatale sample baggie swatches

I was just playing around with my sample baggies, and decided to see what a few of my Femme Fatale shades looked like. And wow! I had to take some quick shots and share. I'll definately be ordering a few of things once the ban is lifted.

Top to Bottom
Deep Moss
The Girl Who Cried Monster
Tears of the Sun
Crystal Guardian
Sugar Rush

 All on bare skin.

Rotating to try to show the shift.

Blurry to share sparkles. I am going to own Deep Moss and Cried Monster. One day. I think Tears of the Sun is currently in the discontinued pile.

And one more for good luck. <3

Epic Femme Fatale haul

I may have gone a bit crazy with my first femme fatale order. Okay... I absolutely did. Here's all the stuff I get to swatch this summer :)
I picked up a few brands, Femme Fatale herself, Glamour Doll Eyes, Shiro, and Detrovore. And I gots me some candy! Thanks FF!

All the shades.

Samples! Interestingly, they are from Shiro and Glamour Doll eyes. I also picked up the black GDE static line.

Comparing jar sizes.

How cute are the minis?! These were both wrapped in plastic and had a sticker over the shifter.

I'm in love with swamplord.

My DQ'd and soon to be discontinued Glamour Doll Eyes.

And the names so I can look back for reference.

Have you guys shopped at Femme Fatale? I've heard Candied Apple is a must have shade?
