Topbox January

This month was such a let down I almost emailed topbox to cancel or request anything that doesn't suck as much as this box. Topbox is Canadian (yay!) and for $12 per month plus taxes 4 samples are delivered to your door.

This month I received duplicates of the last two years. Ugh. Duplicates I don't like.
SeaRx lotion that cannot be used by breastfeeding mom. So this was gifted.
la Roche-Posy Sustiane serum. I still can not tell what part of the body this is supposed to be used for - hair? face? skin? All the above? $59 for full size, $5 for this sample. Gah, I much rather have a latte.
Cuccio nail lacquer in baby puke brown. $4.21. I'm never going to use this, and I feel awful it was sent to me to be wasted.
Teeez Trend Cosmetics Read My Lips Lipstick. This I thought would be awesome! And the packaging is nice. Then you put it on and try to suffer the overwhelmingly strong crayon smell. I'm not keen on this formula at all. $28.94.

It is really nice they include the information sheet. So that's a plus. I opted for the environmentally friendly bag this month, so I don't even have the tube to repurpose.

So disappointing. I hope next month is better.

I paid $13ish with taxes, and this box was valued around $35. But most of that is the awful smelling lipstick.

I would go back in time and not buy this month if that was an option.

Kiss My Sass Lip Lovers Annoymous June 2015

This is my second Kiss My Sass and Elizabeth has blown it out of the water.

I love the detailed breakdown. The value of this month is about $17.50, I paid with exchange rates $20.58 Canadian. Check out the pretty Sparkles unicrorn.

Here's the magical bag!

Unicorn candy!

Super cute, yummy unicorn candy.

All the goodies this month.

The perfume is overly sweet on first sniff but does calm down. I'll have to try it again in the morning to see if this will make it's way into my rotation.

The lip tint and creme blush are in the same shade - Body electric and it's lovely.

The Glamour Doll Eyes shadow is baby pink sparkle which will make a great highlight.

Quick swatches! Body Electric on top and Kiss My Guavas on the bottom.

I'm very pleased with this month, and I'll be keeping this subscription for another month without hesitation. Yey for post-poning my subscription cull one more month. :D

Mail Day! Notoriously Morbid

Notoriously Morbid recently released a beautiful set of the Unseelie and Seelie court. I decided to pick up a few of the shades (yey fiscally responsible!) to test as I feel I may want to order the full set. The highlighter included in this set is the Gift of Life from the Game of Thrones vanishing cabinet. I have not been using it as much as I should. It's lovely.

Shipping seems to take a long time to get here, and there has been much drama around this company/company facebook group. It is calmed down and I'm waiting to make my decisions on how I feel about what happened. Ultimately, it might come down to how I feel about the products (and the shipping/recieving process) as that is what matters.

Here's my orders!

Three of the new colours, a old colour, blush minis, shadow bind for a gift, two freebie sample bags and a freebie J/A.R/V.I.S is my co-pilot.

I've read that similar pale girls use Necromancy to contour. I also like my numerology blush encouraging me to pick up astrology. Now that I see it written, I feel like I should have stuck with what I liked. Astrology seems a similar pink (less gold sparkle) to the Happy Endings blush from the VC last month.

Bottom of the jars. The Daoin Sidhe is the newest blush.

An FYI - this is the third tube change I've seen for the shadow bind. I have this tube style with a doe-foot applicator. I've had to read the page again as I wasn't expecting a squeeze tube. This is the same format as glitter glue from darling girl, and I find it's not my favorite. I usually have more product waste and I do tend to over apply. It might be part of the learning curve - but more I've seen the trial tubes (glass with doe foot applicator), first tubes (squeeze with doe foot) and these (squeezey tubes).

My pretty shadow lids.

Same order, Left to right (same as swatched below), Ebeneezer I release you, JARVIS is my copilot, Chaos Reigns, Fight for Beauty, and Use your Magik.

Finger swatch over shadow bind (I do a quick hand sanitize before touching my shadows but I should still stop this habit).

Fight for Beauty is so gorgeous in person. It's blue and green and amazing.

Here we are mostly looking at JARVIS. It is nice.

And a close up. Normally, shadows do not look this patch over shadow bind. I was too eager to wait for it to get tacky, and there was a lot going on.

Did you pick up the Unseelie/Seelie set? When you find a blush/shadow/lip/product you like from a company do you stick with it or try other similar items as well? Are you patient as well? I ordered these in April and they just got here. Does potty training your kids drive you crazy as well?

Mail day! Hello Waffle

Mail Day! I heard that Hello Waffle will be opening more visage spots! It's a $25 (USD not CDN unfortunately) subscription that I have had in my cart and passed on. Still kicking myself for that one. However, extras are posted online the following month. Which has been perfect for me. I ordered some extras and the new Gods and Goddess collection during the sale (and in the moment between shopping ban status).

The package is always so cute.

Yup. that's Waffle on the waffle balm. The Belgium Waffles smells soo good! I tried the formula and I think I like it. I then tried most of my lip products and don't really recall.

My very large haul and my two GWPs. I actually placed two orders because I'm not so organized. Christine combined them, and refunded me the excess shipping. Very nice of her.

I'm digging the lid art and the new stickers. The Paper Bag Princess was one of my favorite stories as a kid, and it's one I often read to my girls. Strong heroines for the win!

I really like Hello Waffle's blush (hence why I wanted the visage blush and bronzer) so I ordered a couple more samples to see how they match my skin tone.

These are your Gods and Goddesses. I love how the lid art reflects on the colour of the shadow inside.

GWP for the weekend release. These are sparkle bombs. :D

I've only started playing around. It looks like my bronzer took a bit of a trip to get to me :)

I'd definitely be posting more on these. How do you like your visage? How do you like the new Hello Waffle formula? Did you get the Gods and Goddesses collection?

Darling Girl Cosmetics - An Order of Odds and Ends

I adore Darling Girl, and had to sneak in one last order before my No Buy is very strictly adhered to. It wasn't until I began posting that I realized this is a bit of a hodge-podge order. Susan must think I'm crazy! ;)

Always wrapped pretty and like a present.

My order! Squee!!

I decided I needed green lip gloss. I have been pleased with Taupetation so I included Love and Melcancholy. More sparkles with Red. The red and gold glitter leave these guys looking orange.

Little Black Dress is a cream eye shadow base. I have the white, marshmellow fluff and I wanted to see if the black was as pigmented as the white. My swatch below was disappointing, but I haven't really played with it.

Even though this was a small order, two free samples were included! Yey! and *sigh* I like these.

GWP Wrecking Ball (I hope this goes permanent), Serpentine Wonder Wand. I'm find these are best used in very thin layers or they crease on my hooded eyelids. I also wanted Saucy Minx but it sold out very quickly.

On the Top Still at the Nerd table over and beside Little Black Dress. Bottom row: Serpentine Wonder Wand, Love and Melancholy Balm Gloss.

I saw the listings for the filter faker perfecting powders, and I thought most would be too dark for me. However I'm include this sad photos as in the upper corner (the lower half has Still At the Nerd Table) is Heavenly. I'm going to try this out tomorrow and I suspect I'll be adding it to my wishlist.

I think one of the best things about the No Buy I'm going on is I will be able to catch up with what I have. I could swear I ordered Air Kiss, a KISU, but I can't find it. I had a couple orders combined during my half-birthday emotional spending spree and that particular order was included (Susan contacted me and asked if I wanted to combine them! Awesome service!). I don't want to accuse her of not sending it, but I was so excited for it. I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if the kidlets tried to get it :(

Have you shopped at Darling Girl? Do you have trouble not ordering every beautiful GWP? What do you think about the TAT?

Mail Day! Sixteen92 the circle, summer edition

I want(ed) to try more indie perfumes, and had narrowed my selections to a few stores. By great luck, sixteen92 was one, and once I heard about the circle, I waited to place my order. The circle is a four season subscription box that does not renew. Subscribers get to be first in line to try the new scents (and learn if sixteen92 is my stink pretty match). The total for this services was something around $100.

The card is so pretty! I'm also impressed with how well wrapped the samples are and the braclet. An FYI two of my gems were loose. Not a big concern except I'm keeping a close eye to match sure no babies stick them in their mouth until I can find my jewelry pliers.

Ziplock bag with logo.

Here are the five samples. It looks like a lot of product to test. I have only been using dabs on my wrists. Is there something more I should be doing?

I am so glad the scent descriptions are listed. So far, the beautiful and the damned is my favorite. I tested it first before going to bed, and I think it might have been lingering in the morning. It smells nice and not over powering. I am considering getting something in this scent if I can budget it in.

Blood and Honey. I just get baby powder from this one. I actually get baby powder from all of these. The husband equivalent stumbled on my scents, and did not like this one. He could smell "Blood and Honey".

Eternal Return. Nothing too strong yet. Need to try this (and update).

Paper Moon. This one is okay. It's floral to me (maybe the tea?) and when I put it on at first I thought it might be one of those that you can't wear out as the scent is too strong. It's calmed down to something reasonable, and 12+ hours later is still on my wrists.

Theda. I want to try this one. From the descriptions, I expected this to be my favorite.

I think we also got a sample from the regular line (yey!!), mine was Illona. Again, I'll update once I get a chance to wear the scent.

For my first Circle shipment, I'm very glad I signed up, and I'm looking forward to seeing a full year cycle of scents. I believe spots for the circle will open for everyone April next year.

Mail Day! Eccentric Cosmetics

You can find Eccentric Cosmetics on Etsy. I ordered a couple sample packs, and two clam shells of the well-spoken about eye primer. I also tossed in the lipstick in Petra too. But (perhaps fortunately as I am learning no oranges/corals look good on me) I decided to hold off as I'm pretty sure I'll order again. 😊

What are your experiences with Eccentric Cosmetics?

Mail day! Femme Fatale COTM May, 2015

Ooo, new business cards (to me, at least).

So many pretties!

Two samples (almost always become shades on my wistlist), and my goodies carefully wrapped.

The samples and the new business card.

The reason for the order: Limited edition Red Throne blush, May COTM Enchant-mint (although this seems suited more to March) and Ramage.

A little closer to show full size blush, full size eyeshadow and mini eyeshadow jar sizes.

💘
