FOTD Friday

Here's my FOTD! It's funny how I now think this is subtle, until I go out. ;)

Femme Fatale - enchant-mint (COTM), camp jelly jam and swamp lord (dq'd).
Hello Waffle - sweet tea blush as a crease colour.
Darling Girl - moonbeam, kiss n tell (lips), lumos pearls (cheeks), April Showers (dq'd?), setting powder.
Stilla pen liner, gel liner from Birchbox.
Purple Blush - something something.

I'm really digging the formula of the Kisu lips.

FOTD

Aromaleigh, GDE, I will update when my memory works and I find my sticky note of shadows, products and beauty items.

Silly nose shot. Appears my blending wasn't as successful as when my eye are open. Seriously, you can't see that bloop.

I tried this look over foil me, and here's how it stood up after a run.

And finishing with a super awkward close-up.

FoTD Friday - June 19th

Unless I'm able to distract with a very fun toy, this is how I make-up. With one hand, and fingers trying to get into my pretties.

I was trying to do a smoky-type eye that wasn't too over powering for day/my lighter skin.

Hmmm.. I really can't recall what I used. I think Darling Girl - Still at the Nerd Table as I decided to pan that baggy, and Aromaleigh - hyrda or Gryphon.

I reckon my blending skills are improving. I also think the neutral lip works to balance out my face.

Here's my face. I used a different brow pomade and it stuck together like no one's business.

I think this look turned out pretty okay.

Do you ever drop the ball on what you need to remember?

FoTD Friday!

This is a look where I think my liner worked out! :D

Everything used today.

Inside. Nerdvana all over lid, gryphon in crease (note this didn't stay as well as I would have liked), deep moss on lower lash line. I foiled girl who cried monster and lined/tight lined and water lined. The rest of the products you can probably figure out. I've been using the balm fit to blend out my crease as it's right there and I'm really feeling that tad bit of blending actually gives an overall improvement. I will also use fade to fall for this when I remember.

And outside. Look at that wing! Almost there. I also want to note in some angles I didn't get that wing at all.

And there's my face. I'm hoping by forcing myself to post these every so often I can keep a record of my progress and maybe get over feeling disgusted when I see myself; I'm not fond of the extra baby weigh that is still hanging around, and I know that I'm just not a face that anyone would want to look at.

But what do they say? Something like you have to love yourself before anyone else can?

Innocent and Twisted Alchemy Alchemists May 2015

Innocent and Twisted Alchemy offers a monthly subscription. What is unique and special about this one is you can choose the sample size ($16 with shipping) or the full size ($22 with shipping). I've been watching this one and finally decided to try it out last month.

The package.

How awesome is this drawing? I love people with passions and skills. I believe it was drawn by the owner's brother.

Three shadows, and four bonuses! Four!

The first was a shadow from Aromaleigh, a company that I have actually being eyeing. Quarantine. This is my first shadow from this brand, and exclusive to this subscription. I wonder if full size subscriptions received a larger sample.

Femme Fatale has been absolutely amazing. I'm very new to this brand (only have tried them for a few months) but I suspect they will be in my top three by the end of the year. I was super excited to see Xenomorph.

The sample for Siren Song appears to be randomized. The colour I recieved, Disgraced Monk matches the Alien theme.

Another company I want to try, and actually almost ordered this product is full size the day before my subscription arrived is Limnit Lipsticks. They made this shade for the sub, and it's a great neutral. I heard this is a new formula that is more moisturizing but I still found it drying. It also can stain the skin for days! Try not to accidentally get it somewhere like your stomach.

Look at how cool that art work is! I may not be able to watch the scary movies I love, but I can enjoy makeup goodies themed after them.

The three exclusive shadows to this month's collection.

All the shades open.
Quarentine in the bag, Extraterrestial, Xenomorph, Disgraced Monk on the top row. Face Hugger, Drone, and Ripley on the bottom.

Up close. They may be neutral, but I think they are gorgeous.

I knew I had to smear these on my face as soon as I opened them.

I know, the blending is ROUGH but gosh-darn-it, it's pretty good for also holding a squirmy baby. And, I didn't drop any of the shadows. I have a colour pop shadow I'm going to have to keep a close eye on as it's now marked with a perfect baby hand print.

So that's the May Innocent and Twisted subscription. Does it bother you when you get neutrals? Do you subscribe?

FOTD - Brija Cosmetics

I'm trying another look with the Brija Adhesive Eye Wax. I've read good things about it, and from my swatches, it does look like it works really well - almost as good as glitter glue but a bit less POW, in your face. I have been using the wax with the powder primer, but as I've been applying the powder with my finger, I thought I would try again using a brush.

Here's what I used today:
Eyes (all Brija Cosmetics unless stated otherwise) -
Powder Eyeshadow Primer
Adhesive Eye Wax
Apple Cider
Bachelor Watson
Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed
Cranberry Fizz
Mulled Wine
Dark Matter's Cassiopeia
Wide Eyed Waterline Liner

Face -
Perk Blush applied with Sedona Lace Powder Brush 850
Perk Gloss on Lips

One thing I've noticed about Brija Cosmetics are they are very feminine, and it almost seems impossible to over do them.

I started with the Powder Primer, and then I really tried to warm up the wax. I'm having difficulty getting it to stick to my eye lids and I'm not sure if that's because I'm up in the great white north or that my eyes have started to get all wrinkly. I think it's the first, and I might shelf this primer until the 5 warms days where eye sweat happens. By rubbing my finger several times, I was able to get the wax to melt enough I could get a thin layer.

I stated with Cranberry fizz as a inner eye highlight hoping to get the blue/pink sparkle. I worked towards the outer eyes patting then blending Apple Cider, Cassiopeia, Mulled Wine and Bright Eye and Bushy Tailed (BEBT). I blended the edges with Bachelor Watson, and used BEBT as a liner (which is it fabulous!). For under my eye I used Mulled Wine and a touch of BEBT. I finished with Wide Eye in the waterline, and I think this might be a favorite. I want to try setting this liner with powder to see if I can get flashes of bright colour to actually stay in my water line.

FOTD - two Brija Cosmestics Glamour to Go looks

Look 1 - Pressed Shadows

Using the pressed shadows Allure, Bright Eyed and Bushy Tailed (love this name!), cream shadow sugar, wide eyes liner, and ITK.

My shadows and wax have all come unglued which does make application right now a pain. I'll decided to glue them back in or add them to a pallete.

I was a bit rushed, so don't think my lack of blending in the outer "v' implies these are hard to work with.

Look 2 - Loose Shadows

 Products used:

I would agree that Brianne achieved a very simple yet elegant, natural yet beautiful daily look. If I can almost pull it off, anyone can. BEBT is going to be used often to "naturally" line my eyes.
