Ipsy June 2015

Ahhh Ipsy. I quit you. I came back.

I love that the mailers are still stinking bright pink. I don't like how they appear cheaper.

I think I got a pretty good deal this month. I've reviewed some other boxes and I like mine. Perhaps that means the quiz they ask when you sign up really does fit items to your profile.

Three sheet masks. I'm going to try my first one tonight.

Another J-cat product but this one looks better than that goopy mess sent last time. I can't find a colour name, only numbers.
My "please come back" product of Smashbox Photo Primer. I'm glad to try this out, but I did want to try the Too Faced lip product.

This little eye pencil got me! I thought I was missing the cap for it. I checked the bag several times.

I also got a tool - a flat tom concealer brush. I'll be using this. Not sure for what yet.

Here's the eye pencil and the lip gloss. The eye pencil is very close (but NOT metallic) to Darling Girl's cream wonder wand in Honey Pot. I'm going to try to use that to keep myself from placing a(nother) Darling Girl order in my No Buy July.

The baby immediately cried after swatching, I forgot about the lip stain and this happened. Le sigh.

A quick comparion between marimoto pink pearl (top) and honey pot (bottom).

I'll try to come back and update my Ipsy glam bag total shortly. I paid $14.95 US (about $22 Canadian with the current exchange rate) and received about $___ in value.

Innocent and twisted alchemists June

This was a very good month.

Bonus! FOTD.

Note to self: The purple faded out quickly while the pink did stay until bedtime. Wear time was about 6 hours.

Preen Cosmetics Order - First Impressions

When Preen Cosmetics opened, I just knew I had to give it a shot. I heard about the limited lipstick samples - and thought it was sign. What better than to test out the colours and pick the one (or two!) full size products I want.

Super cute duct tape!

Man, I needed some chocolate this night I opened this, and I'm forever in love.
Hand written notes are always so sweet to see. I can't imagine how much time it must take indie owners!

The package inside the bubble mailer.

A business card shot.

Another look at the bird tape. I have lots of biologist friends who would love this!

My professional looking order.

Stickers and everything was wrapped by type. Great if unfortunate leakage happened!

The ingredients list. I don't think I see anything that I'm allergic to on first glance. First use of the balm was very smooth. It's since become a bit grainy similar to what happens with my Ten Three Labs balms.

Did you see that professional business card? Wow!

So much attention was paid to detail in the wrapping of these goods.

Lids are beautifully designed.

Product varies - but they are mostly about half full. I'm sure the ones that are filled with excess are from the pouring process. It's enough that I think I'm going to be able to get a good feel for which shades look the best on me.

Arm swatches in the same order as above.

An second angle and attempt at slighly different light.

Bonus sneak peek! My lip swatches.

Femme Fatale Discontinued shades set 1

Femme Fatale is discontineing shades!!! AHHH!!!

Due to high oxide content, some shades will be change. I've got ye old facebook post around here some where.

These are the guys I have that have already been selected for the chopping block.

I have these over a glitter adhesive (Glamour Doll Eyes Glitter Fix), a primer (Urban Decay Primer Potion) and bare skin. Numbered as to the alphabetical list of shades to "stock up on".

Dreamstate, Faerie Fire, Grave Moss, Haunt, Impsy, Rampage, and Scream Song.

See? My notes on what I should get (if any, hello No Buy July, and perhaps Love my Stash, September). Page 2 lists the remaining four shades.

Look! The jars are in the blackground.

Haunt has an amazing shigt, but it's a pain to work with. Faerie Fire is stunning, but takes a lot to show up on my nearly transparent skin. Perhaps more contrast would let this shade shine.

Scream Song -

Rampage -

Impsy -

Haunt -

Grave Moss -

Faerie Fire -

Dreamstate -

And the video sparkle magic:

These are the shadows for set 2, forthcoming.

I'm missing 7 of the shades that are slotted to be discontinued. However, I'm not panicking - as they shades are going to return, and will likely be even better. I can't wait to see them.

Of these shades, a couple did not play nicely. However, Rampage is rose-gold love, Impsy sparkles like no one's business and grave moss (especially when paired with a rich dark green like the discontinued Swamp Lord) is totally my jam.
